Purpose of the job / project
Play a key role in the improvement and innovation of IT solutions in our organisation and be part of a dynamic agile team focused on delivering related high quality services in the various data domains in our focus.
What you will do
As a Senior DevOps engineer, you will design IT solutions and integrate new services with the existing data-centric infrastructures. You will be a key actor of continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation, focusing on developing, deploying and maintaining internal and external tooling, and automating processes to enable the company to establish and maintain a data-driven culture. You will serve as a senior technical partner and mentor for less experienced colleagues. You will be part of the Technology and Infrastructure team.

Responsibilities
• Design and deploy internal and external IT services for the company
• Contribute to data driven company culture• Identify and deploy data related IT services
• Design, configure, and manage operational services of the Platform
• Setup tooling and automation around DataOps and DevSecOps
• Apply security- and privacy-by-design practices and constantly improve our security posture
• Serve as a technical expert in European Union (EU) projects
• Contribute to establish high quality agile deployment practices
• Write and maintain related documentation
• Be responsible for IT services continuity in terms of availability, scalability and security
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues and outages/incidents
• Provide technical consultancy to external parties regarding e.g. best practices of data exchange
• Represent the Platform in various meetings, conferences, and gatherings with the respective stakeholders.
Who you are
  • MSc or PhD in a scientific, technological, or engineering discipline related to computer science, information technology, or computing
  •  5 to 10 years of relevant experience with programming, deployment, and maintenance of IT services, such as secure data exchange, data management, web applications, as well as Linux / Windows systems and web servers administration
  •  Experience in implementing change management processes
  •  Working knowledge in more than one technological stack, covering backend to frontend
  •  Working Knowledge of security- and privacy-by-design principles• Expert knowledge of one containerization engine, such as Docker
  • Strong knowledge in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java
  • Good knowledge in at least one configuration management platform, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible or SaltStack• Experience with database systems, both SQL and NoSQL
  • Proven experience in GitOps and setting up CI / CD pipelines
  • Good knowledge of git vcs, git platforms and IAAS tooling (e.g. Terraform)
  • Expert in VM orchestration, deployment and administration (Linux / Windows)
  • Strong Knowledge of back-end (Python/Javascript/Java) and front-end-related (HTML/CSS/SASS) programming languages, and algorithmic
  • Proven experience with static page generators (e.g. Jekyll, Hugo)
  • Working knowledge of authentication protocols like OpenID Connect, SAML or LDAP/AD, and solutions like Keycloak
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the abilities to well articulate the technical needs and to work within an interdisciplinary setting and communicate with external partners
  • Creative, solution oriented with good analytical skills and a mindset for quality
  • You have critical thinking, you are adaptable, flexible and you are able to accept and manage changes in the workplace
  • You have cultural intelligence and diversity consciousness
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Working knowledge of one of Luxembourg’s official languages (French, German or Luxembourgish) is a plus.
