Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS) is a brand of PNED G.I.E. an organisation created by the Luxembourg Government, to implement Luxembourg’s strategies in research, innovation, and digitalisation. LNDS enables value creation from secondary use of data, for public and private partners and supports the sharing and re-use of public sector data, in a trustable manner. The LNDS service portfolio includes know-how, capabilities, tools, infrastructure, and data services. Through efficient & responsible use of data and improving the secondary use of data, LNDS will support the acceleration of economic, ecological, and societal transitions.

Purpose of the job / project
The
4LM project (Legal Large Language Model) aims to ingest and structure all published legislation at the EU, national, and commune levels. The goal is to leverage large language models (LLMs) to build intelligent applications for:
- The general public and enterprises (e.g., smart legal search)
- Civil servants and lawmakers (e.g., writing support)
- Legislative review bodies (e.g., Conseil d’État, Parliament)
This project is part of LNDS’s long-term strategy to enhance legal accessibility and transparency through AI.
What you will do
As an intern, you will contribute to the development and deployment of a GenAI-powered legal intelligence system. Your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in the creation of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) application
- Evaluating system accuracy and performance
- Extracting and curating legal texts for vector-based retrieval and graph-based linkage
- Supporting deployment on Luxembourg’s EuroHPC infrastructure (MeluXina)
