Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS) is a brand of PNED G.I.E. an organisation created by the Luxembourg Government, to implement Luxembourg’s strategies in research, innovation, and digitalisation. LNDS enables value creation from secondary use of data, for public and private partners and supports the sharing and re-use of public sector data, in a trustable manner. The LNDS service portfolio includes know-how, capabilities, tools, infrastructure, and data services. Through efficient & responsible use of data and improving the secondary use of data, LNDS will support the acceleration of economic, ecological, and societal transitions.

Purpose of the job / project
As a software engineer, you will contribute to the design of applications and integration of new services with the existing data-centric infrastructures. You will be a key actor of continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation, focusing on automating parts of the software development process, internal data flows and internal tooling. You will be part of the Technology team.
Who you are
- MSc or PhD in a scientific, technological, or engineering discipline related to computer science, information technology, or computing.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in programming, deployment, and maintenance of applications.
Professional competencies
- Working knowledge of security- and privacy-by-design principles.
- Creative, solution oriented with good analytical skills and a mindset for quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the abilities to clearly articulate the technical needs and to work within an interdisciplinary setting and communicate with external partners.
- An interest in state-of-the-art technologies, DevSecOps and to be in an agile environment.
- Critical thinking, adaptable, flexible and able to accept and manage changes in the workplace.
- Autonomous, attentive to details, ambitious and curious.
- You have cultural intelligence and diversity consciousness.
- Languages: English (fluent)
- Working knowledge of one of Luxembourg’s official languages (French, German or Luxembourgish) is a plus.
Technical competencies
- Experience with Python or Java languages. Other languages are considered as a plus.
- Knowledge in one technological stack, covering backend to frontend.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman).
- Working knowledge of authentication protocols like OIDC, SAML or LDAP/AD, and solutions like Keycloak.
- Knowledge of SQL & noSQL technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud ecosystems.
- Comfortable working on Linux and git environments daily.
